Ndamane Reacts To His National Team Debut

Bafana Bafana’s young defender Khulumani Ndamane has spoken about his impressive debut for the national team, where he played a crucial role in their 0-0 draw against Tanzania at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday.

The TS Galaxy defender, who won the man of the match award in his first game, expressed his initial nerves but praised his team’s performance.

“In the game against Tanzania, I was so scared because it was my first game in Bafana Bafana,” Ndamane told SAFA’s media department.

“Actually, I didn’t believe that this is me who is playing in the national team. But when I entered the field, I told myself that being here is not a mistake and I must play my normal football.”

Ndamane was rewarded with the Bafana Bafana call-up after being the mainstay for his breakthrough season at TS Galaxy this past term, where he featured in 27 matches in all competitions.

“Luckily, I played very well and got the man of the match award,” he continued.

“I was so happy for the man of the match award, and I didn’t believe that.

“The reason why I was so happy is because it was my first time getting the man of the match award since I started playing football, and it happened in the national team.”

This debut marks a significant milestone for the Kaizer Chiefs Academy graduate, who had previously received a national team call-up in March but was unable to participate due to passport issues.

Despite the setback, Ndamane’s hard work and dedication have paid off, and he expressed gratitude to the South African fans and supporters.

“I would like to thank all South African fans who support us and also all people who support me,” he added.

“I promise them that I will work very hard and I will not disappoint them, and they must continue supporting me – it really means a lot to me.”

Ndamane will look to build on his momentum as Bafana Bafana takes on Mozambique in a friendly match at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday.

With his impressive debut already making waves, fans will be eagerly watching to see what’s next for this talented young player.
