Nkota Feels No Pressure At Al-Ettifaq

Former Orlando Pirates attacker Mohau Nkota says he feels no pressure after his unexpected move to Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ettifaq FC, a transfer announced on Sunday.

Nkota’s departure, which caught many by surprise, sees the 20-year-old joining Al-Ettifaq for their pre-season tour in Portugal. There, he’ll play alongside former Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum.

Nkota stated that he feels no pressure regarding the move, expressing his happiness and emphasizing that he intends to live his life, work hard, and remain true to himself.

“I don’t think there’s pressure on me to go there,” said Nkota on SuperSportbet.

“I just want to go there to live the life, work, and be the person I am. Just do what I’ve been doing, and I’m also happy about the move to Saudi Arabia.”

The attacker acknowledged that he would miss his friend and teammate Relebohile Mofokeng, who has been linked with a move to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

Nkota also mentioned he is uncertain if his move to Al-Ettifaq will increase his chances of making the Bafana Bafana squad for the AFCON later this year in Morocco. However, he stated that if given an opportunity, he will perform to the best of his abilities.

“At the club, there is a lot to miss, but I think I’ll be the Cocomelon,” Nkota stated, who experience a breakthrough season and scored some sumptuous goals.

“I don’t know, as I was given a chance at the friendly against Mozambique, and I delivered two assists.

“So, it’s up to the coach, but I’m going there to work, but it’s up to the coach, whether he calls me or he doesn’t, but I’m going to work. I’m going to make sure I deliver everything.”
