Nwabali Excited About Kwayiba’s Return

Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has reacted to the return of Sinoxolo Kwayiba from Orlando Pirates, expressing his well-wishes for the 25-year-old’s future endeavors and acknowledging the potential benefits for the Chili Boys.
Kwayiba joined Pirates during the off-season, with the Buccaneers being drawn to his impressive display at Chippa, where he played 43 games in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists.
The 25-year-old’s performances at Chili Boys even earned him call-ups to the Bafana Bafana squad.
However, things didn’t go as planned for Kwayiba at Pirates, where he struggled to get game time, playing only four games and losing his place in the Bafana squad under coach Hugo Broos.
Despite the limited playing time, Kwayiba’s stint at Pirates wasn’t without its rewards, as he won three trophies, including the MTN8, Carling Knockout, and Carling Cup.
On Monday, Pirates announced that Kwayiba would be returning to Chippa on a permanent move, marking a significant coup for the Chili Boys.
Nwabali, who has been a key player for the Chilli Boyz, shared his thoughts on Kwayiba’s return to the Chili Boys.
“I feel like it’s good for the club because he’s been part of the team despite leaving, but in life you need to improve,” Nwabali said when asked by SABC Sport in Morocco in the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria will face Algeria in Marrakech on Saturday.
“He left the club to improve himself, but now he is back, but he might be in Europe. I wish him well, and definitely the club will be happy to see him because he is a great player.”
Kwayiba’s return will undoubtedly boost Chippa’s squad, and he will be looking to make an impact in his first game since his return against Orbit College on January 23 at Olympia Park in Rustenburg.
