As confirmed by Sportswire previously, Richards Bay FC has confirmed the signing of Thabang Sibanyoni from Mamelodi Sundowns on loan.

The move addresses a key need identified by coach Vusi Vilakazi, who sought a target man.

Sibanyoni showcased his goal-scoring ability last season while on loan at the University of Pretoria, where he posed a significant threat to Richards Bay’s defense during the promotion playoffs.

The club has also bolstered its goalkeeping options with the acquisition of Kenyan international Ian Otieno from Zesco United.

Richards Bay’s ability to strengthen its squad is underpinned by a substantial R100 million sponsorship deal with Phakwe Gas over the next three seasons. In addition to Sibanyoni and Otieno, the club had already secured the services of Siyethemba Sithebe, Tlakusani Mthethwa, Sbani Mntungwa, Fezile Gcaba, Thabiso Kutumela, and Keagan Allan.
