Official: Mngqithi Signs New Deal With Sundowns
Veteran football agent Mike Makaab confirmed that coach Manqoba Mngqithi has signed a new contract with Mamelodi Sundowns. While Makaab indicated that Sundowns would be the official source of the announcement, he confirmed the deal.
Mngqithi, who joined Sundowns in the 2013/14 season, had a contract expiring at the end of June.
“He has signed a new deal, but I’ll let Sundowns confirm the news,” Makaab told Gagasi FM Sports on Friday.
Mngqithi is set to lead Sundowns’ coaching department following Rulani Mokwena’s departure. The latter recently joined Wydad Athletic Club as head coach in Morocco.
Since joining Sundowns, Mngqithi has been instrumental in the club’s success, contributing to nine league titles, two Nedbank Cups, two Carling Knockout trophies, the MTN8, CAF Champions League, CAF Super Cup, and the African Football League.
