Ouaddou Optimistic About Pirates’ Future

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Oaddou feels optimistic that the club is set for a bright future and will grow stronger, stating this after two games in charge in the pre-season camp in Malaga, Spain.

Following the departure of Jose Riverio, the newly appointed coach has been given the responsibility to guide the Soweto Giants ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Ouaddou travelled with the club to Spain for their pre-season preparations, where he guided the club in their two friendly game. They lost 2-0 to Bolton Wanderers and managed to hold Pafos FC in a 1-1 draw in their second game.

Ouaddou has expressed satisfaction about the team’s performances in their past two games, and he feels confident that they’ll grow stronger, judging from the progress they’ve made so far.

“You know, sometimes as coaches, we have to analyse, even when you lose a game, we have to analyse it deeply. And we cannot just react as a fan,” said Ouaddou.

“Of course, the fan can be disappointed. But the first game was very interesting in its content, you know. Of course, we conceded in the set pieces, but a lot of interesting things.

“And now today (Sunday), it was only the continuity of the work that boys are doing, and step by step, I know that this team will come stronger and stronger. I’m very confident about that.”

Amabhakaniya will continue their pre-season friendlies as they look to play Las Palmas at Marbella Football Center on Thursday.
