Pirates’ Clear Mandate Against Tricky Kruger United Trip

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Rayaan Jacobs anticipates a tricky fixture when they face Kruger United in their Betway Premiership clash at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Soweto giants head into the match highly motivated after advancing to the MTN8 final for the fifth consecutive time, and they will be looking to maintain their winning momentum in the league.

The Buccaneers defeated Sekhukhune United 4-0 on aggregate in their two-legged semifinal.

Pirates are yet to suffer a defeat in the league and currently sit at the top of the table with 10 points from four games.

In contrast, Kruger United are at the bottom of the table with just one point from their opening four matches.

Jacobs expects a difficult encounter but stressed that the team’s main objective is to secure a positive result on the road.

“The next fixture is Kruger United, the new boys in the league,” said Jacobs.

“For us, we have to build on the performance from Saturday. It’s a good result, good performance. We know it’s going to be a tricky fixture on Tuesday, and for us, our main objective was to recover. But our main objective is to get ready and ensure we get the three points on the road.”
