
As expected, Orlando Pirates’ match against Golden Arrows has been postponed, the Durban club confirmed.
The two sides were scheduled to meet in a Betway Premiership match on Tuesday at Orlando Stadium. The postponement is necessary to allow Pirates sufficient time to prepare for their CAF Champions League group stage match against Stade Abidjan in Ivory Coast next weekend.
It is expected that Mamelodi Sundowns’ league match against Chippa United, also scheduled for Tuesday next week, may be rescheduled to accommodate their Champions League fixture against Raja Casablanca in Pretoria next weekend.
These postponements are part of a series of adjustments made by the PSL to accommodate South African clubs participating in CAF competitions.
Pirates’ match against Marumo Gallants on Tuesday, 3 December, was moved to provide adequate preparation time for their crucial clash against Al Ahly at Orlando Stadium on Saturday (15:00).
Sundowns’ match against AmaZulu at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Tuesday was also postponed.
Stellenbosch FC, making their debut in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages, had their match against Magesi FC, also scheduled for Tuesday, postponed to allow them to prepare for their continental fixture against RS Berkane at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.
Steve Barker’s side’s game against Royal AM at Danie Craven Stadium next Tuesday has also been postponed. They will be away next weekend when they visit Desportivo Lunda-Sul in Luanda.
