Pirates’ Young Guns Nominated For Nedbank Cup Award

Orlando Pirates’ young talents Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Relebohile Mofokeng, and Mohau Nkota have been recognized for their outstanding performances in the Nedbank Cup, earning nominations for the Most Promising Player of the Tournament award.
Despite ultimately falling short in the final against arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs, losing 2-1 at Moses Mabhida Stadium on May 10, Mbokazi, Mofokeng, and Nkota shone brightly, showcasing their skills and potential.
Their consistent performances throughout the tournament have earned them this prestigious nomination.
Notably, Chiefs also had promising young players, such as Wandile Duba, Mduduzi Shabalala, and Mfundo Vilakazi, but their limited playing time, often starting from the bench, ruled them out of contention for the award.
The nominated Pirates trio will now vie for the Most Promising Player award, a testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport.
