Spurs Sent Packing In The Legacy Cup

Njampela United dug deep to force a comeback and beat Nsingizini Hotspurs 2-1 in the second semi-final of the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup at Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Regional Stadium on Saturday.

Nsingizini’s goalkeeper Sibusiso Dlamini converted a penalty in the first half before Njampela duo Mandisa Khumalo and Sibongiseni Gamede found the net in the second half.

After an underwhelming half, devout of events, Nsingizini were awarded a penalty towards the end of the first half.

Astonishingly, Dlamini the goalkeeper, stepped up and beat Njampela’s Andile Mqadi, sending his team one goal up to halftime.

In the second half, Njampela returned with renewed intent, finding the back of the net early in the game through Khumalo’s tap-in after a low-ground cross fizzed across the box.

Before Nsingizini could respond, Njampela flipped the game on its head as they found the second through Gamede’s tap-in at the back post.

Njampela will face Richards Bay in the final, who overcame Royal AM in their semifinal.
