Sundowns Return On Top Of The Table

Mamelodi Sundowns returned to the top of the Betway Premiership table by defeating Royal AM 2-1 in the Betway Premiership match on Wednesday evening at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
The Brazilians came in Wednesday’s game having won 2-1 against Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium in their last league game. On the other side, Thwihli Thwahla played a 0-0 draw against Magesi FC away from home.
Sundowns started this game on a high foot as they managed to get a great goal in the sixth minute as Siphelele Mkhulise scored a great goal for the Brazilians after John Maduka’s men committed a mistake at the back.
This was Mkhulise’s first start in the league this season and he played very well. Both teams got so many chances during the first-half but failed to score goals in their chances and the first-half ended 1-0 in favour of Sundowns.
In the second half, Sundowns introduced Neo Maema and Siyabonga Mabena before the 65th minute. Both these players had a great impact both defensively and offensively for Sundowns.
The home side got a second goal in the 85th minute, and their goal was scored by Khuliso Mudau. Both Mudau and Teboho Mokoena started Wednesday’s game as they were sidelined in the last games of Sundowns.
However, Thwihli Thwahla got the consolation goal as Sbangani Zulu found the net in the 93rd minute.
Sundowns have now won all their first four league games this season. They defeated their neighbors SuperSport United as well as Marumo Gallants, Chiefs, and Royal AM.
Manqoba Mngqithi’s side will now visit Polokwane City on Sunday, October 27 at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane in the Betway Premiership.
On the other hand, Royal AM FC will be visited by SuperSport United at Harry Gwala Stadium this Saturday. This club will be trying to find their first victory of the season against Amatsatsantsa a Pitoli.
