Sundowns Suffer Second Loss In Europe

Mamelodi Sundowns suffered a 1-0 defeat to Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv in their pre-season friendly at Sportstadion in Wörgl, Austria, on Wednesday.
This marks Sundowns’ second consecutive loss after falling 2-1 to German third-division side SV Sandhausen on Tuesday.
Samba Diallo scored the only goal in the first half for Kyiv, capitalizing on Sundowns’ failure to clear a cross from the right flank.
Despite controlling possession, Sundowns squandered numerous chances to equalize, particularly through newcomer Kabomelo Kodisang in the second half. Kyiv also had an opportunity to double their lead but ultimately missed the target.
Sundowns, managed by the duo of Steve Komphela and Manqoba Mngqithi, will next face Welsh club Cardiff City on 23 July. Their pre-season tour concludes with matches against Qatari side Al Arabi SC and Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal on 26 July.
