“There Is Nothing Else I Can Say”: Freese Stunned By Magesi Defensive Collapse vs Chiefs

Magesi coach Allan Freese admits time is running out after a 4-1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs left his side bottom of the Betway Premiership at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.

With just 17 points from 24 games, Magesi must now beat Durban City on Sunday.

The Limpopo outfit suffered a damaging 4–1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in a Betway Premiership clash at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.

They remain rooted to the bottom of the table with 17 points after 24 matches, two points behind both 15th-placed Orbit College and 14th-placed Marumo Gallants.

It was the club’s second consecutive league defeat, following their loss to Sekhukhune United in their previous outing.

Dikwena Tsa Meetse have managed just one win in their last 15 matches across all competitions, with their 7 April victory over Gallants marking their first triumph since beating Chippa United in October last year.

“They are running out, but there are still games left to play,” said Freese.

“You never know what can happen. For now, we have to focus on preparing for the next match on Sunday — that’s the most important thing.”

Magesi will face Durban City at Seshego Stadium on Sunday. The visitors, who are in the top six, are also under pressure after suffering back-to-back defeats.

Reflecting on the loss to Chiefs — who also beat them in the reverse fixture — Freese expressed frustration at his side’s defensive lapses.

“It was not a good result, but I thought we did well for the first 30 minutes,” he said.

“We even had a chance to score. In the last game, when we lost, we went home and worked on finding where we can score. But today [Wednesday] was the opposite — we didn’t defend well.

“It’s always a balance — do you focus on attack or defence? But we’ll go back and keep working. There’s nothing else we can do.”
