Usuthu Unveil 7 New Players, Release Zungu & 5 Others

AmaZulu has confirmed the arrival of seven new players ahead of the upcoming season, while simultaneously releasing six.
As anticipated, Usuthu have secured left-back Omega Mdaka from Stellenbosch FC, alongside his former Stellies teammate, the highly-rated winger Khomotjo Lekoloane. Mncedi Vandala also joins from Magesi FC, a move previously revealed by this website.
The squad is further strengthened by defender Keenan Phillips, who signs following a spell with Lamontville Golden Arrows, and midfielder Gape Morale, who arrives from Siwelele FC. To add depth and fierce competition between the posts, the club has secured the services of 24-year-old Ivorian goalkeeper Faveur Kouassi from Malian outfit Djoliba AC.
Completing AmaZulu’s recruitment drive is highly-rated Kenyan striker Moses Shumah, who joins after a prolific stint with Zambian Premier League champions Power Dynamos. Shumah arrives in Durban on the back of an outstanding 2025/26 campaign, during which he found the back of the net 23 times in all competitions.
As AmaZulu welcomes these new faces into the family, the club also bids farewell to several players whose contracts have come to an end. Goalkeeper Richard Ofori, defender Sphephelo Majola, midfielders Bongani Zungu and Mason Mushore, and forwards Thabiso Kutumela and Elmo Kambindu have all departed the club following their respective spells in Durban.
The club management extended its sincere appreciation to the departing players, thanking each of them for their professionalism, commitment, and contribution to the Usuthu badge.
