Chiefs Strengthen Midfield With Signing of Cele

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of experienced midfielder Thabo Cele.
The 28-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Amakhosi, which includes an option for an additional year.
Born in KwaMashu, KwaZulu-Natal, Cele embarked on an overseas career in 2016, playing for Real SC, Benfica, and Cova Piedade in Portugal between 2016 and 2019.
He subsequently moved to Poland to play for Radomiak before joining Russian side Fakel Voronezh.
With a wealth of international experience, Cele has represented South Africa at various youth levels, including the U20 and U23 teams. He has also earned caps for the senior national team, Bafana Bafana.
“It’s been a long time coming for Thabo, and we are both glad that he’s finally here,” says Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr., “We know his quality and we are looking forward to his contribution to the squad as we continue to build.”
Cele joins Chiefs on the same day they signed Congolese international Glody Makabi Lilepo from French club Valenciennes FC.
