Adams Urges Sundowns To Go All Out Against MC Alger In Decider

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams has stressed the importance of going all out in their upcoming CAF Champions League group-stage clash against MC Alger on Saturday.
Sundowns were held to a 1-1 draw away to Saint-Éloi Lupopo in the DR Congo on Sunday, a result that has increased the pressure on them to secure victory in their final group-stage fixture.
Adams came to Sundowns’ rescue by scoring the equaliser from an Aubrey Modiba corner, although Miguel Cardoso’s side struggled to find a winning goal thereafter.
The African giants will now host MC Alger, coached by their former head coach Rulani Mokwena, in a make-or-break encounter at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
The match comes in the wake of the club’s decision on Monday to suspend performance analyst Mario Masha over alleged leaks of tactical information to Mokwena.
Adams emphasised that a win is non-negotiable, but noted that it will depend on the quality of their preparations.
“I am very happy with the performance. As a team, I think the boys did very, very well. We did everything and worked our socks off,” Adams said.
“We must go all out,” he added.
“We need to win that one, but the preparations must be good. We must recover and focus on the next one.”
The 24-year-old, who joined Sundowns from Stellenbosch FC last January, said he is accustomed to scoring goals of that nature.
“I used to score those, but normally at the first post. I told Grant Kekana that I was going to go to the back post, the ball landed there, and I scored,” Adams said.
Adams has featured in 18 matches for Sundowns this season, scoring two goals.
