Durban City And FoneYam Bring The Heat

While fans arrive in style to chase the R20,000 or R50,000 Betway prizes, Durban City has introduced its own ways to reward the “Citizens” faithful through FoneYam.

Through a new partnership with FoneYam, matchdays now offer more than just football; they offer a shot at the latest mobile tech.

At Durban City’s home matches, fans can also stand a chance to win various prizes—including a smartphone—through FoneYam.

The club recently welcomed FoneYam as its official sleeve sponsor. FoneYam provides customers with access to qualifying smartphones through flexible payment options designed to make technology more affordable.

The service is available through Ackermans Connect’s cellular and tech offering, accessible online as well as in Ackermans and Ackermans Connect stores.

As part of the partnership, FoneYam branding features on the sleeves of the first-team kit, while fans can enjoy matchday activities such as in-stadium competitions, giveaways, half-time activations, and pop-up information and sign-up stations at selected home games.

To participate, fans simply need to download the FoneYam app, where they may be selected to take part in a halftime dance on the pitch, giving them a chance to win prizes available on the day.

Promoters move through the stands to identify fans with the best energy and vibes, selecting them to take part in the halftime dance on the pitch.

The winner is then announced after the dance-off.

Despite Durban City suffering their first home defeat of the season against Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday, one lucky fan still walked away with a Samsung A07.

During halftime, three participants competed in a dance battle, with the crowd ultimately deciding the winner, who received the phone.
