“Look At the Field, Not The Coach” – Freese Breaks Silence On Magesi Exit Rumors

Magesi coach Allan Freese has cast doubt over his future at the club following a string of disappointing results, insisting that the blame for the team’s struggles does not lie solely with him.
The Limpopo-based outfit is currently languishing at the bottom of the Betway Premiership standings. With just 17 points from 23 matches, the club faces a desperate fight to escape the relegation zone.
Freese, who took the reins in February, has urged management to analyze on-field performances rather than focusing on the dugout.
“Well, I don’t know, it’s up to the management,” said Freese, as they lost 1-0 to Sekhukhune United on Saturday.
“But I think the management must also see what is going on on the field. They mustn’t look at the coach; they must look at what is happening on the field. When I tell you we had 13 chances to 10.”
Freese has acknowledged the pressure as a club but is looking to turn it into motivation and move out of the relegation zone.
“The pressure is always there, whether playing this game or that game; it doesn’t matter,” said Freese.
“We are at the bottom of the log; the pressure will always be there. And the pressure is how we get out of that. That is where the main problem is. How do I get out of that?”
Meanwhile, the struggling Magesi will face Kaizer Chiefs in their next league encounter, as Chiefs are currently on a winning streak at the moment.
They will host the Soweto Giants at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday evening. Megesi will be looking for their first-ever win against Chiefs, having lost twice against them and drawn one.
