Ahead of their AFCON U20 match against Tanzania later on Wednesday, Amajita coach Raymond Mdaka expressed his team’s readiness for the challenge. 

The match is scheduled for Wednesday at Suez Canal Stadium [17:00].

“In this game against Tanzania, we know that every team is ready and fully prepared for the tournament,” he said. 

“We respect every team in the tournament, and I think that will make things easier for us to win games and go forward to the tournament.”

Mdaka emphasized the importance of capitalizing on scoring opportunities, hoping his team will get the chances they normally create. 

“I hope we’ll get the chances that we normally get,” he said, reflecting on their opening match against Egypt, where they hit the post multiple times.

Despite the 1-0 loss to hosts Egypt in their opening match, Mdaka remains optimistic about his team’s prospects. 

“We went there fully prepared, and I think as a team, we did very well,” he said. “It’s just that we were unfortunate not to win because we created many opportunities.”

Mdaka praised his players’ commitment and courage, expressing satisfaction with their performance. 

“But all in all, we’re happy for the commitment and courage of the players,” he said. “Going forward, we feel we can do far better than what we did against Egypt.”

The match against Tanzania promises to be a crucial test for Amajita, with both teams vying for a vital win. Mdaka’s team will need to showcase their skills, determination, and teamwork to overcome their opponents and secure a spot in the next stage of the tournament.
