Black Leopards Appoint Marques As Head Coach

Black Leopards have appointed former Moroka Swallows coach Zeca Marques.
The 63-year-old replaces Ghanaian coach Maxwell Konadu, who was sacked by the Limpopo side after their weekend loss to Leruma United.
The Portugal-born Marques takes over a club currently 10th in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with 23 points after 17 matches.
This is Marques’ second stint with Leopards, having previously coached the team from January to June 2015.
He has also had two spells as Swallows head coach, the first from July 2012 to October 2014. He replaced Gordon Igesund, who had taken the Bafana Bafana job, and led the Dube Birds to the MTN8 title in his first season (2012/13), defeating SuperSport United at Orlando Stadium. His second stint was between July and September 2019.
His most recent job was also in Limpopo, coaching Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) for three months in October and December 2021.
Marques’ first game in charge of Lidoda Duvha will be against Cape Town Spurs, coached by former Swallows coach Ernst Middendorp, at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday at 15:30.
