Cardoso Extol Adams As Smart Player

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has praised new signing Jayden Adams as a smart player as the former Stellenbosch attacker appears to be adjusting to life at the club.

This after Adams scored his second goal for Sundowns in as many matches when they thrashed TS Galaxy 4-1 victory on Saturday, volleying the ball home from outside the box.

The former Stellenbosch midfielder, who was outstanding on Saturday, netted what was the third goal, and deservedly claimed the Man of the Match award.

Adams has been an influential player in Cardoso’s side since he joined the club during the January transfer window for a big-money move.

The 23-year-old talented midfielder even started in their big game against Orlando Pirates where the Brazilians won 4-1, flourishing in advance and defensively roles since Themba Zwane is out injured.

“The roles of the coach is to try to find also the connection between the player and how he works,” Cardoso said.

“We have many good players and Jayden of course is one of them. He is happy to be with us and his teammates have been helping him to settle.

“The way we play is one of the things that we want him to understand and he can also do what we are doing. He is capable of many things; he’s very interesting player in terms of understanding the game of which it’s intelligent.”

The Bafana Bafana midfielder has now scored two goals and won two Man of the Match awards since he joined Sundowns.

Adams will be hoping to increase his goals when the Brazilians faces Sekhukhune United on Wednesday.
