Cardoso Says Eight Players To Miss Nedbank Cup Clash

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has confirmed that eight players will miss their Nedbank Cup Last 16 clash against Mpheni Home Defenders at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday (15:00)
However, Cardoso’s side who was brought to earth by losing to TS Galaxy midweek, will have Brazilian talisman Arthur Sales available as he’s already recovered from an injury.
“I can try to tell you the players that will be not available this weekend due to injuries,” Cardoso said.
“If I can start at the back we have Mothobi Mvala, Rivaldo Coetzee, Devin Lunga, Khuliso Mudau, and Zuko Mdunyelwa. Then we also have Arthur Sales who is coming back.
“We have Keano Cupido who’s also finishing his recovery process, Siyabonga Mabena, and Themba Zwane.
“Most of them are finishing their recoveries, and I think they will help us because we need them throughout the season so that we can be stronger.”
Mvala, Coetzee, Mabena, and Zwane got their injuries in 2024 during the first round of the Betway Premiership. The former Cape Town City defender Cupido suffered his injury in his former club Cape Town City.
Sundowns reached the round of 16 after they beat another lower division side Sibanye Golden Stars in the round of 32.
