Chiefs Announce Mdantsane’s Departure
Kaizer Chiefs has confirmed the immediate departure of midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane as his contract is set to expire this month.
Mdantsane joined Chiefs at the start of the 2023/24 season from Cape Town City, but he struggled to make an impact, featuring in just 16 matches across all competitions and scoring two goals.
Due to his limited playing time, Chiefs decided to loan him to KwaZulu-Natal side Richards Bay last season.
However, his spell at Richards Bay was also brief, with only three appearances. With his contract expiring at the end of June, it became clear he had no future with the Soweto giants.
“Kaizer Chiefs and midfielder, Mduduzi Mdantsane have mutually agreed to part ways,” the club stated. “The 30-year-old player joined Amakhosi from Cape Town City at the beginning of the 2023/24 season.
“Last season, in order to accumulate some game-time after recovering from injury, he spent the latter part of the campaign on loan at Richards Bay FC. During his time with Chiefs, Mdantsane made 16 appearances across all competitions. We wish Mdu all the best!”
Mdantsane’s exit follows a string of other departures from Chiefs, including Edmilson Dove, Njabulo Blom, Ranga Chivaviro, and Sabelo Radebe.
