Chiefs Coach Nabi: We’ve Lost Our Way

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi expressed his disappointment about his side, saying they have lost their way of playing, which raises huge concerns.
This comes after Amakhosi suffered an 11th-season loss to Marumo Gallants this past weekend, leaving them in ninth place on the Betway Premiership log with 30 points.
Nabi acknowledged the dire situation, stating, “It is unfortunate that the situation is very bad, and we have to accept it because there’s no excuse for that.”
However, the former AS FAR coach emphasized that the team’s loss of identity and style of play was more concerning than the results.
“But the most worrying thing is not for me, is not about the results. We have lost our way of playing, which is even more concerning.”
The coach’s comments highlight the team’s struggles to find consistency and cohesion on the pitch.
Their last league win was on 4 March against Magesi at the FNB Stadium, and since then, they have failed to recapture their form. With only three league games remaining, Chiefs need to regroup and refocus if they want to finish in the top eight of the league.
Last season’s disappointment still lingers, and the pressure is on to deliver a better outcome this time around. Chiefs’ upcoming fixtures include tough matches against Orlando Pirates, Sekhukhune United, and Polokwane City.
This weekend’s Soweto Derby clash against Pirates will be a crucial test, and Nabi’s men will need to rediscover their form and style to stand a chance.
Nabi’s focus on the team’s playing style rather than the results suggests a sense of urgency and a need for introspection within the team.
“About the statistics of all those previous games, I think we can’t say a lot of things about it,” he added. “But the only thing we can say is that on Saturday we had a very bad situation, and that’s the situation we have as a club.”
The team’s fate is still in their hands, but it will take a significant turnaround in form to achieve their goal of finishing in the top eight.
Can Chiefs turn things around and salvage some pride in the final stretch of the season? Only time will tell.
