Chiefs To Return To Durban For Home Matches
Kaizer Chiefs will once again make Durban their home away from home during the upcoming season. According to the released PSL fixtures on Thursday, Amakhosi will play several matches in the coastal city.
Chiefs, who have a strong connection with the eThekwini municipality, will first grace the Durban World Cup Stadium on 29 December when they host Chippa United. Interestingly, they also played Chippa at the same venue last season, ending in a goalless draw.
Another fixture in Durban will see Chiefs take on Golden Arrows on 12 January 2025. Notably, Chiefs have an unbeaten record against Arrows at the Moses Mabhida Stadium since it opened for domestic football after the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Sekhukhune United will also face Chiefs in Durban on 19 January. In addition to these matches, Chiefs will also play some home games at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo.
Under the guidance of new coach Nasreddine Nabi, Chiefs will kick off the 2024/25 season with an away match against Marumo Gallants on 14 September. Their first home game will be against Stellenbosch FC at FNB Stadium on 22 September.
It’s worth noting that Chiefs missed out on this season’s MTN8 due to their 10th-place finish, a disappointing result for the club.
