Durban City Fire Hunt

Sportswire has learned that Gavin Hunt has been fired by Durban City with immediate effect.
This publication understands that Hunt’s dismissal stems from him having lost the dressing room, with tensions reportedly escalating between the coach and several players.
The four-time PSL title-winning coach’s final match in charge was the clash against Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
The situation in the dressing room is said to have left club chairman Farook Kadodia frustrated, ultimately leading to his decision to part ways with the former Kaizer Chiefs coach.
“Hunt has lost the dressing room, and he is fighting with the players,” said a source.
Durban City chairman Farook Kadodia was not available for comment.
Hunt was appointed during the off-season after City secured promotion by winning the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season.
The former SuperSport United coach led City in 16 matches across all competitions, winning six, losing six and drawing four.
He leaves the club in a relatively healthy position — eighth on the Betway Premiership table with 19 points from 14 matches.
