Durban City Lose Nigeria Defender To Pirates?

Durban City coach Gavin Hunt has revealed that his club was interested in Nigerian defender Collins Nwoburuoake, but the player appears to have moved on to Orlando Pirates.
Nwoburuoake, who previously played for Abia Warriors in Nigeria, had trained with Durban City. Photos of him with the team even surfaced on social media.
However, the 20-year-old was recently seen training with the Soweto Giants at Rand Stadium before their MTN8 final against Stellenbosch at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
When asked for clarification, Hunt expressed confusion about the situation. “I don’t know. He is at Pirates, isn’t he? Pirates,” Hunt said after his team’s 2-0 victory over Siwelele FC on Tuesday, a win that moved Durban City to fourth place in the Betway Premiership standings.
“I’m not sure what is happening. I’m not sure.”
A Confusing Transfer Saga
Despite Hunt’s comments, a source has informed Sportswire that Nwoburuoake has stopped training with Pirates and has returned to Durban City.
Adding to the mystery, Nwoburuoake’s record lists him as part of the Durban City squad that defeated TS Galaxy 2-0 in the first league game of the season, even though he didn’t play.
With the PSL transfer window closing on 22 September, it remains to be seen where the talented Nigerian defender will end up.
