Gallants Appoint Ex-Sundowns Administrator
In a last-ditch attempt to avoid relegation, Marumo Gallants have appointed Peter Koutroulis as a football administrator.
The experienced Koutroulis, who has previously worked with Polokwane City, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Chippa United, most recently served at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars.
Before Stars, he helped Magesi side to gain promotion to the Betway Premiership at the end of the 2023/24 season.
He was in Durban two weeks ago when Stars stunned AmaZulu 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals.
Koutroulis joins a struggling Gallants side currently sitting 14th on the table with 18 points after 21 matches, having managed just one win in their last 11 games across all competitions.
The poor run of form led to the suspension of head coach Alexandre Lafitte, who guided the team to the Carling Knockout final last year.
For now, the team is being overseen by former Golden Arrows captain Matome Mathiane.
Gallants face Sundowns at Loftus Stadium on Tuesday night.
