Hunt Faces A Sack At SuperSport

SuperSport United is reportedly considering parting ways with coach Gavin Hunt, Sportswire has learned.
The Tshwane-based club is currently facing a challenging period, sitting second from the bottom of the table with 21 points after 21 matches.
They have only managed five league wins, with their last victory coming against Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on 18 February.
Since then, they have lost three of their last four matches across all competitions, including a penalty shootout defeat to Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals.
Hunt missed that Nedbank Cup match due to a red card he received during a shock loss to Magesi earlier this month.
That Magesi game followed Hunt’s milestone achievement of becoming the first PSL coach to manage 1000 matches, which occurred against Golden Arrows on 23 February. However, that match was abandoned due to load shedding at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Hunt, who won three league titles and Nedbank Cup titles during his first stint with SuperSport United, returned to the club in July 2022.
In his first season back, SuperSport United finished third, but they subsequently dropped to seventh place last season.
With their current performance looking increasingly dire, Sportswire has been informed that the club is contemplating dismissing the four-time league-winning coach.
