Kaze Pleased With Victory But Seeks More Goals

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze reflected on his side’s performance after their Betway Premiership clash against Magesi FC at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night, praising the result while admitting they could have scored more goals.

Amakhosi secured a 2-0 victory, with goals from Wandile Duba and Mfundo Vilakazi, a result that saw the club climb from fifth to fourth place on the standings with 36 points.

The win also marked Chiefs’ second consecutive victory after they defeated Durban City at home last weekend.

Despite the positive outcome, Kaze made it clear that while he is satisfied with the three points, he believes his side had enough opportunities to score more goals and put the game beyond doubt much earlier.

“It is a good three points because it is never easy to play against a team that is fighting to stay in the Premier League,” Kaze said on SuperSport TV.

“I will say that this is a positive result for the team, and I believe that this is a game we could have controlled better and probably scored more goals. But I will take the three points today and the two goals as well.”

Another key takeaway for Kaze was the importance of keeping a clean sheet, especially considering the team’s recent struggles with conceding goals and dropping points in previous matches.

“It is very important as well to have a clean sheet, and a player like Wandile Duba is a player that didn’t get a lot of time to play, and with this goal, he is going to get enough confidence to go forward,” he added.

“It is also a good thing that there are players who are coming along as the season is set to end. I think we are going to need everyone to be strong until the season ends.”

With momentum building, Amakhosi will now take a short break from league action due to the FIFA international break. They are set to return to the field on the sixth of April, where they will travel to North West to face Orbit College.
