Kekana Warns Of Durban City’s Fierce Challenge

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Grant Kekana is bracing his team for a tough encounter against Durban City in their upcoming Betway Premiership match at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.
The Brazilians are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 1-1 draw against Marumo Gallants during the week, which saw them miss an opportunity to move back on top of the log in the league.
Currently sitting in second position with 15 points after seven games, having secured four victories and three draws, Sundowns will need to be at their best to overcome a determined Durban City side.
Coach Gavin Hunt’s team, who are fourth on the log with 11 points from six games, including three wins, two draws, and one loss, are riding high on confidence after a 2-0 win over Siwelele at Chatsworth Stadium during the week.
Kekana acknowledged the fighting spirit of Durban City, saying, “I think there’s going to be a lot of fight from Durban City. Coach Gavin Hunt’s teams always fight until the last minute. There’s going to be a lot of aggression, but I think we’ll be mentally prepared.”
The former SuperSport United defender emphasized the importance of their home advantage, stating, “Luckily, it’s our home game, and everybody knows that when we play at home, we make sure we don’t lose.”
The 32-year-old is eager to see a strong turnout from the fans, recognizing the value of their support in big games.
“So, it’s going to be a nice game, and I urge fans to come in numbers to support us,” he added.
“I think we need them, and that togetherness we really need as Sundowns, especially at this moment.
“We are going to really appreciate them if they can come in numbers for the boys, and we’ll not disappoint them.”
