Khenyeza Praises Players For The Brilliant Start

Golden Arrows coach Mabhuti Khenyeza has attributed his team’s impressive start to the league to the hard work and dedication of his players.

The club has enjoyed two consecutive victories without conceding a goal, placing them at the top of the Betway Premiership standings.

Led by a coaching trio of former Arrows players, Khenyeza, Musa Bilankulu, and Kagiso Dikgacoi, the team has shown great determination and hunger on the field.

Khenyeza was asked what has pleased him most in these two matches, saying the players have been hungry to play football after more than two months of pre-season training that was extended due to the DStv pulling out as the headline sponsor of the league and being replaced by Betway.

“The boys have to be happy because they are the ones who are playing,” said Khenyeza.

“They should take credit. I am happy if they are happy because this belongs to them as I’m outside of the field.

“The boys should take credit. What pleased me most is to see them happy and that can be reflected to me.”

In that 2-0 over Gallants on Saturday, striker Knox Mutizwa scored his 61st goal in the colors of Arrows, turning defender Tshepo Rikhotso before rifling the shot past Daniel Akpeyi.

Nduzuzo Sibiya, who is the long-serving member of the club, added the second, with Arrows catching the slack defending of Dan Malesela’s side to make it 2-0 in the first half.

Arrows started the season by beating Stellenbosch FC midweek last week where they also scored two goals without conceding.

They will hope their fantastic start continues when they turn their attention by hosting bottom side Magesi FC at Mpumalanga Stadium on Wednesday (19:30).

Khenyeza added what has helped them is that he, Binkalulu, and Dikgacoi played at the club and it is why they have started the season so well.

“We grew up together, we understand each other,” Khenyeza added.
