Leopards Capture Ex-Pirates Striker

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards have completed the signing of former Orlando Pirates striker Mwape Musonda.
The Zambian international has rejoined Lidoda Duvha, where new head coach Maxwell Konadu believes the 33-year-old can rediscover his scoring touch.
He has been a free agent since July 2023 following his departure from the now-defunct Moroka Swallows. Musonda enjoyed a four-year spell at Leopards between 2016 and 2020, netting 50 goals in 107 matches, making him the club’s all-time leading scorer.
The centre-forward initially arrived in South Africa in 2014 when he joined the Sea Robbers. In the 2015/16 season, he was loaned to Golden Arrows. After his loan ended, he moved to Leopards as a free agent in the 2016/17 campaign.
The 2018/19 PSL top scorer left Leopards in October 2020 to join Hatta Club in the United Arab Emirates. Musonda is the second striker signed by Leopards this transfer window, following the acquisition of former Maritzburg United forward Clive Augusto, who was released by Chicken Inn in Zimbabwe.
