Makaab Confirms Saudi Interest In Duba

Renowned football agent Mike Makaab has confirmed that there was interest from Saudi Arabia in his client, Wandile Duba.
A screenshot circulating on social media had caused anxiety among Chiefs supporters, suggesting a potential departure for Duba.
However, he quickly put those rumors to rest, confirming he was not leaving Amakhosi. This clarification came as he, along with Nedbank, donated a new sports court to Phulong Secondary School in Kwa-Thema, Springs, earlier this month.
“I’m not going anywhere; I’m staying with the team,” Duba said with a smile, reiterating his commitment.
Despite the player’s statement, Makaab, during his show Extra Time Sports on Gagasi FM on Friday, confirmed the interest in the attacker. “There was interest in Duba from Saudi Arabia. It was just interest, and there was no offer on the table. He will remain at Kaizer Chiefs,” said Makaab.
Duba played a key role as Chiefs ended a 10-year trophy drought last season by winning the Nedbank Cup. He scored in the semifinal as Chiefs defeated Mamelodi Sundowns in the Ke Yona Cup, before Amakhosi went on to beat their rivals, Orlando Pirates, in the final.
Since being promoted in January 2023, Duba has featured in 44 matches across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing four assists.
