Miguel Declares Amakhosi ‘Fear No One’ Ahead Of Sundowns Clash
Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel says the team has no fear of Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of their highly anticipated Betway Premiership clash at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Chiefs head into the encounter at the top of the standings with six points from two matches. Sundowns, meanwhile, have three points from their opening game and currently sit fourth, with a game in hand.
The clash is expected to attract a sell-out crowd, with both sides eager to make an early statement in the league campaign.
Miguel insists Chiefs will approach the match with confidence despite Sundowns’ status as African champions.
The defender says Chiefs respect what Sundowns have achieved but are not intimidated by them.
“Yeah, my understanding is that we have to respect the fact that Sundowns won the CAF Champions League. Sundowns is Sundowns, but at the same time, we are Kaizer Chiefs, you know,” said Miguel.
Miguel added that Chiefs will approach the fixture in the same manner they did against Sekhukhune United, when they secured a 2-0 victory.
“At the same time, we also fight for our goals. We fear no one. I think the message is very clear: we fear no one. Regardless of whether they are Champions League champions or PSL champions, we will face them as we faced Sekhukhune.
“As I said before, we’re going to start the game with the same ambition, with the same spirit of fighting and going for every duel. And that’s the message, very clearly, from the coach.”
