Mkhulise Pledges Goal Fest Against Royal AM
Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sphelele Mkhulise has set the stage for a goal-filled encounter when they take on Royal AM on Tuesday (19:30), their second meeting in just four days.
Fueled by his Man of the Match performance in Sundowns’ 1-0 victory over Royal AM last Saturday, Mkhulise exuded confidence ahead of their upcoming clash.
“I’m confident to play against Royal AM again. I was happy with my performance last game even though I know I can improve,” asserted Mkhulise.
This quick rematch stems from the postponement of Sundowns’ fixtures due to their CAF Champions League commitments.
While acknowledging the threat posed by Royal AM, currently battling relegation in 14th place, Mkhulise emphasized that Sundowns won’t be offering any sympathy.
“It will be a difficult game because they will want to come to us because they are number 14 on the log. Their play home so they will want the three points which we won’t give them,” declared the Sundowns academy graduate.
The 28-year-old midfielder further directed a message to the Sundowns faithful, promising an entertaining encounter: “They can expect a good game with many goals, and we promise that we will succeed,”
For Sundowns, these games serve as a formality after securing the league title with a dominant performance six matches before the season’s end. Royal AM, on the other hand, are fighting for survival in the top league.
