Nabi Explains Petersen’s Nedbank Cup Final Start

In a surprise move, Kaizer Chiefs coach has announced that Brandon Petersen will start in goal for the Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates, instead of Bruce Bvuma.
According to the coach, the decision is part of a goalkeeper rotation system implemented throughout the season.
“We’ve been having a rotation on our goalkeepers,” the coach explained in a pre-match interview on SABC Sport.
“We started the season with Fiacre Ntwari, then after him it was Bruce Bvuma, and now it’s Peterson.”
The coach praised Petersen’s training, saying he has been “training extremely well, and his presence and abilities have been very well.”
The decision to start Petersen comes as a shock, given that Bvuma has played every match since Petersen’s last outing on December 8 last year. Bvuma won’t even be part of the matchday squad for the Nedbank Cup final.
The coach revealed that Bvuma had been under pressure and was being protected.
“We’ve noticed that Bruce has had a so much pressure on him. The previous weeks was not good for him, and we want to protect him in this moment, and we decided to start with Petersen.”
The Nedbank Cup final promises to be an exciting encounter between two Soweto giants, with Kaizer Chiefs looking to end their season on a high note.
Will Petersen’s inclusion in the starting lineup pay off, or will Orlando Pirates capitalize on the unexpected goalkeeper choice?
The match kicks off at 15:30 at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
