Ticket Scalper Arrested Ahead Of Nedbank Cup Final In Durban

Police have arrested a fan found selling match-day tickets issued by sponsors for the Nedbank Cup final.
The Nedbank Cup final is set to be contested by Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
Given the high demand for tickets, which sold out within 90 minutes, an arrest for such activity was anticipated.
“One suspect has been detained after being found selling match-day tickets that were originally issued to sponsors,” police said in a statement released on Saturday. “The suspect was also in possession of wristbands intended for distribution to service providers. The necessary legal procedures will now be followed.”
Orlando Pirates are aiming to win the Nedbank Cup for the third consecutive time, while Kaizer Chiefs are seeking their first victory in the competition since 2013, when they defeated SuperSport United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The last Nedbank Cup encounter between these two sides was in the 2022/23 season, with Pirates emerging victorious 2-1 after extra time in the semi-final.
However, their last meeting in this competition final under its former name, the Absa Cup, took place in 2006 at Kings Park Stadium, located across from Moses Mabhida Stadium, where Chiefs won 5-4 on penalties.
