Nabi Prioritizes Two More Signings

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has stated that any further signings for the club must be players of immediate impact, not just squad fillers.
Nabi confirmed that Chiefs are looking to strengthen one or two more positions, despite having already brought in six new players this season.
The club has already signed Flavio Silva, Ethan Chislet, Nkanyiso Shinga, Paseko Mako, Siphesihle Ndlovu, and Thabiso Monyane. These additions have ignited hope among the club’s faithful ahead of what promises to be a demanding season, with fixtures set to be played in close succession due to the Africa Cup of Nations 2025.
Nabi emphasized that the club is not done in the transfer market, but any new arrivals must be of high quality. “There is one or two positions that we might strengthen,” said Nabi.
“But we are going to look for the best opportunity in terms of quality, because we don’t want to fill the position just for the sake of filling it. We will wait as long as it requires to fill one or two positions going forward.”
The coach also expressed his commitment to nurturing homegrown talent. “Having said that, I would like to give opportunities to the young players that came from the DStv Diski Challenge as well, who were promoted last season. Because we feel that there is big potential. But we want to do it step by step because we have learned from the past.”
Nabi made these remarks in Durban, where Chiefs are preparing to face Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko in a pre-season friendly, the Toyota Cup, at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday at 3:00 PM.
The stadium holds positive memories for Chiefs, as it was the venue where they ended their long trophy drought by defeating Orlando Pirates to win the Nedbank Cup title last May. That match was the Soweto Giants’ last appearance at the 2010 FIFA World Cup semi-final venue.
