Ncikazi Anticipates Tough Clash Against Sekhukhune
Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi is anticipating an exciting Betway Premiership clash against Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
The Buccaneers will be looking to reclaim top spot on the log and avenge their 1–0 defeat to Sekhukhune in the first round fixture at Orlando Stadium earlier this season.
It was not a perfect start for head coach Abdelsam Ouaddou, as questions were raised about whether he was good enough to lead a club of Orlando Pirates’ stature.
However, the team has since shown significant improvement, going on to win two trophies — the MTN8 and the Carling Knockout — and sitting at the top of the table before the campaign was halted by the Africa Cup of Nations.
Pirates currently sit second on the log with 28 points from 12 matches, just one point behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who have played two games more.
Ncikazi revealed that the team has prepared well for the encounter and is looking forward to a competitive contest between the two sides.
“We use these short breaks as an opportunity to prepare well as a team. With players coming back from the national team, I think we have had very good preparation for the first time in a long while,” said Ncikazi.
“We are facing a good side, and obviously it’s going to be a good game between two strong teams.”
A victory for the Soweto giants would see them move up the table.
