Ouaddou Hails Dansin’s Talent After Stunning Strike Against Sundowns

Orlando Pirates coach Abdelsam Ouaddou says Camren Dansin has a huge talent after the youngster scored a stunner as they drew with Mamelodi Sundowns in a sold-out affair Betway Premiership match at Loftus Stadium on Saturday.  

Ouaddou showed huge faith by starting a 20-year-old Dansin alongside Masindi Nemtajela, and Sihle Nduli in the midfield.  

The faith shown to Dansin paid off as the youngster volleyed on the edge of the box with a left foot in the 35th minute for an equaliser, scoring his first goal in the senior team in this huge match.  

Sundowns could not clear the corner, but the ball fell to Dansin, who blasted it with the laces for the first time asking and left Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams rooted in his post.    

This goal will surely be the goal of the season’s contender and will be talked about in the next coming days. 

“It’s such difficult for a coach, you know, because if you have lost this game, all people will tell the coach put a player without experience,” said Ouaddou. 

“But as a coach, I have worked in development for five, six years. 
You have to give chance to this South African huge talent to give them the opportunity to shine.  

“It’s what we did today, in a very important game. I think this guy is a big experience for him, and now we give him a chance to grow, to grow, and it’s what I’m going to do. 
 

“I give chance to the youth, especially South African youth, who has the talent we give. We need to give them chance.”  

The draw between the two sides successful side in the PSL has seen Sundowns remain on top with 22 points after 11 matches, three ahead of Pirates, who reclaimed the third spot, with 19 points after nine matches. 

Kaizer Chiefs, who beat Durban City on Friday, dropped to fourth spot, though they have the same number of points with Pirates.   

Pirates is still searching for their first league win over Sundowns in Pretoria since 2018.
