Pirates Announce New Signing From Galaxy
Orlando Pirates continue to bolster their squad, confirming the signing of Kamogelo Sebelebele from TS Galaxy.
Sebelebele, who recently featured for the Bafana Bafana B side that lost to Angola in the COSAFA Cup final earlier this month, joins a host of new recruits at the Buccaneers.
He links up with other new faces including Sipho Mbule (Mamelodi Sundowns), Yanela Mbuthuma (Richards Bay), Masindi Nemtajela (Marumo Gallants), Tshepang Moremi (Amazulu), Nkosikhona Ndaba (Richards Bay), Sinoxolo Kwayiba (Chippa United), Tshepo Mashiloane (Baroka), and Sihle Nduli (Stellenbosch).
While many of these players are currently in Spain for the pre-season camp, Sebelebele will remain in Johannesburg with players like Zakhele Lepasa before joining the main group.
“Orlando Pirates Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Kamogelo Sebelebele,” the club stated. “The 22-year-old winger joins the Buccaneers on the back of an impressive breakout campaign with TS Galaxy, where he featured in 29 matches and found the back of the net five times – a return that highlighted his attacking prowess and consistency throughout the season.”
The statement further clarified, “Sebelebele will join the group of players who remained in Johannesburg while the selected first team group embarked on their preseason tour in Spain. The Soweto Giants are currently in Marbella, where they have two remaining fixtures against Spanish outfits Las Palmas and Granada before returning home on July 20.”
Although primarily a winger, the Limpopo-born player demonstrated his versatility last season by excelling at both right-back and left-back, showcasing the dynamism he brings to Abdeslam Ouaddou’s squad. “From all of us at Orlando Pirates Football Club – Welcome, Kamogelo,” the statement concluded.
Sebelebele, who is naturally a right-back, leaves TS Galaxy after making 98 appearances across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists. Last season alone, he featured in 29 matches, scoring five goals and bagging two assists.
