Pirates Hero: The best Is Yet To Come
Orlando Pirates’ MTN8 hero Tshepang Moremi believes that his teammate Oswin Appollis is destined for greatness, and he thinks the fans will continue to be delighted with the 24-year-old’s performances.
Moremi made these comments after Pirates’ 3-0 victory over Stellenbosch in the MTN8 final title triumph at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday evening.
Moremi was instrumental in Pirates’ win, scoring two goals and assisting the third, which was scored by Tshegofatso Mabasa.
Appollis, who came off the bench as well in the second half, provided the assists for Moremi’s two goals.
Moremi credited his coach for providing valuable insights that helped him score, saying, “Before I entered, the coach told me that there are some spaces that Stellenbosch are not focusing on, and that’s how I managed to score because I saw that there are many spaces they’re not marking in their defense.”
The win marked a historic moment for Pirates, who became the first team to win the MTN8 four times in a row in the PSL era.
Moremi expressed his gratitude for winning his first trophy since starting his football career, saying, “I’m feeling blessed for winning this trophy, and everything goes step by step.
“So, I’m happy for winning this trophy and also scoring because it’s my first trophy since I started playing football.”
The former AmaZulu winger, who was named man of the match, also thanked God for his talent and praised the coach for his guidance.
“I would like to thank God for giving me this talent, and the coach told me to focus on the game, and I’m happy that the team won.”
Moremi’s comments about Appollis were glowing, saying, “That boy (Appollis) is going far, and all I can say is that the fans are still going to be happy. This is just the start, and the best is yet to come.”
The victory marked a successful start to the season for Pirates, with Moremi and Appollis playing a crucial role in their triumph. Both players joined the Buccaneers less than three months ago from AmaZulu and Polokwane City, respectively, and have already made a significant impact, helping the team win a trophy in their first season.
