Richards Bay Holds Chiefs, Usuthu New Coach Falls in Diski Debut

Kaizer Chiefs were held to a 2-2 draw by Richards Bay FC in the DStv Diski Challenge at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Sunday, while SuperSport United powered past AmaZulu in an impressive comeback.
Bay struck first, earning a penalty in the 29th minute that Ntlonelo Bomelo calmly converted. Chiefs responded shortly after the break, with Matala Makhubo finding the bottom corner to bring them level.
But the Natal Rich Boyz quickly regained the lead as Thobani Mngomezulu tapped in from close range, once again putting Bay ahead.
Determined to stay in the title race and reclaim the top spot from Stellenbosch, Chiefs fought back to equalize late in the match through Makhubo’s second in the match, salvaging a point.
In a thrilling clash earlier, SuperSport’s Thabang Mahlangu delivered a standout performance with a hat trick that completed their 3-1 comeback victory over AmaZulu.
Usuthu took the lead through Tebogo Mashego’s 13th-minute penalty, but Mahlangu struck back. He first leveled the score from the spot, before heading home from a corner to put SuperSport ahead.
He sealed the result with a third goal early in the second half, handing AmaZulu’s new coach, Mcedisi Dada Sibiya, a tough start to his tenure.
Elsewhere, Cape Town City routed Polokwane City 5-2, while Sekhukhune United and Marumo Gallants played out a 2-2 draw.
