Riveiro: It Was Painful To Lose To Galaxy Last Season

Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro was left extremely happy to avenge beating Jwaneng Galaxy, saying it was painful to lose to them at the same stage last season.
Pirates advanced to the group stages of the CAF Champions League after a late 1-0 win against Jwaneng FC at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
The Buccaneers came into the game with a two-goal advantage from the first leg, thanks to Tshegofatso Mabasa and Deon Hotto’s efforts.
Riding the wave of their home support, Pirates started the game on a front foot, dominating ball possession and pinning the opponents in their own half.
Despite the obvious will to extend their advantage, Hotto and Kabelo Dlamini’s attempts on target were not enough to find a goal.
It took a full 90 minutes plus added time for Pirates to find the back of the net through Monapule Saleng’s last ditch efforts after a defensive mishap at the back.
The Buccaneers will wait the CAF Champions League draw to find out their opponents in the group.
“It was painful to lose to them last season,” reacted Riveiro to SABC Sport.
“There is a team that has much more experience than us, than our group in this type of game, in this competition.
“But I’m so happy for the group, so happy for everybody, especially for our players having an opportunity now to go play with the best ones in the continent. Thank you to the brave ones (fans) who came today to Orlando Stadium to support us, and it was very important to have them here and try to make a game somehow more special, it was very cold tonight.”
Pirates will now wait for the group stage date from CAF.
