Royal AM Excused From DDC Due To FIFA Ban

Royal AM has been granted an exemption from the 2024/25 DStv Diski Challenge due to the ongoing FIFA-imposed transfer ban.

The club has been unable to field a team in the reserve league competition due to a lack of eligible players.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Executive Committee reviewed the situation and decided to halt Royal AM’s participation in the Diski Challenge.

“Royal AM Football Club has been unable to field a team in the 2024/25 DStv Diski Challenge competition due to a FIFA registration ban,” said the PSL in a statement on Friday.

“After reviewing the facts and representations presented by the club this week, the PSL Executive Committee has resolved to halt Royal AM Football Club’s participation in the 2024/25 DStv Diski Challenge competition.”

The ban was imposed on the club for failing to pay former player Samir Nurkovic and is currently under appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Until the matter is resolved, Royal AM remains unable to sign new players, both domestically and internationally, hindering their ability to field a competitive team in the Diski Challenge.
