Seema Dismisses Sacking Rumors, Focuses on Sekhukhune’s Success

Sekhukhune United coach Lehlohonolo Seema is avoiding discussing his future at the club, stating he is not concerned by persistent rumors that he might be sacked, despite the team’s third-place position in the Betway Premiership table.
Speculation suggests that former Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler has been considered for the position, which is surprising given the team’s current standing.
Sources indicate that Seema would have been dismissed had Sekhukhune lost to Chippa United the previous week. However, they won that match and also advanced to the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals after defeating Milford FC this past weekend in Durban.
The team remained in Durban to face Richards Bay at King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday (19:30).
“I think anyone who was disturbed would not be achieving these kinds of results, so it doesn’t affect me at all,” said Seema. “Because I’m still here, I’m still the head coach of Sekhukhune United.
“I want to emphasize that this team is focused on one game at a time. They have blocked out all external distractions. This team has only been in the Betway Premiership for four years, and perhaps our current success is surprising many people. That’s why we are saying, let’s ignore the noise and concentrate on the task at hand.”
Seema, who departed the club four games before the end of last season after allegations surfaced that he was seeking a new contract, reiterated:
“I’m still here,” he said. “We will treat those as rumors. The technical team is happy, the players are happy with the results, and we are advancing to the next round of the Nedbank Cup.”
