The reigning champions, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, made a stunning comeback, hammering City Lads 6-0 in the Eastern Cape. This dominant win follows a disappointing 0-0 draw against Copper Belts over the weekend.

Nthabiseng Majiya, a key player for the Banyana Banyana, made a significant impact, scoring four goals, while Boitumelo Rabale and Tiisetso Makhubela added two more to the tally. With this win, Sundowns maintained their lead at the top of the log with 19 points from seven games.

In another notable performance, Ezemvelo Ladies continued their impressive form with a 1-0 victory over University of Fort Hare Ladies away from home. This win propelled them to ninth place in the league with nine points from six games, showcasing their determination and skill.

However, not all teams are experiencing the same level of success. UWC Ladies, who finished second in the league last season, are currently struggling, sitting in 12th place with only four points from five games. Their latest match ended in a 0-0 draw against TS Galaxy Queens, further adding to their woes.

The South African Women’s top-tier league will resume this Sunday, with all teams vying for crucial wins. 

Sundowns will face the University of Fort Hare, while UJ Ladies will take on JVW Girls in a highly anticipated match-up. UWC Ladies will look to break their losing streak against Royal AM, and City Lads will face Copper Belts Ladies. 

Ezemvelo will host First Touch Ladies, and TS Galaxy Queens will take on the University of Pretoria.

Other matches include UCT Ladies against Richmond Ladies in Cape Town and Durban Ladies traveling to Pretoria to face TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies.
