AmaZulu Complete Dladla Appointment

Sportswire has learned that AmaZulu has finalized the appointment of Simo Dladla as the club’s new assistant coach.

Dladla had been linked with the Usuthu assistant coach position for several days, and the move is now complete.

The former Venda FC coach steps in as the second assistant, providing much-needed depth in that department for head coach Arthur Zwane, who previously only had Siboniso Vilakazi to rely on. Zwane took over as AmaZulu’s head coach in February after Vusi Vilakazi resigned due to personal reasons.

Zawne helped Usuthu finish sixth in the Betway Premiership, the first time they have sneaked in the top eight in two years.

Zwane and Vilakazi were initially given a dual coaching role at Usuthu following the sacking of Pablo Franco Martin, who departed after AmaZulu lost their opening three matches of the season.

Dladla joins AmaZulu after successfully guiding Durban City to promotion to the PSL topflight last season, winning the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

His future at Durban City had been under discussion, with both parties engaging for ten days to finalize new terms. But they could not find each other, leading him to leave and paving the way to join Usuthu.

In other news, AmaZulu are closing on the signing of Cape Town Spurs midfielder Liam Berg.

Usuthu has also strengthened its squad with new player acquisitions of Keagile Malepe from Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies, making him AmaZulu’s second confirmed signing. He follows Keagan Allan, who was signed from Richards Bay.
