Sundowns Technical Member Leaves After 15 Years

A longtime member of the Mamelodi Sundowns technical staff, Goolam Valodia, is rumoured to have left the club with immediate effect, Sportswire has learned.
Valodia, who served as a scout and performance analyst, is one of the longest-serving members at Sundowns since 2010. He is said to have been informed by the club’s management that his services were no longer needed as the season was set to begin.
This is because Valodia has not been involved in any of Sundowns’ first four matches this season.
In addition to his role as a performance analyst, Valodia also worked with Khaled Ali as part of the advanced party for CAF club competitions, scouting both local and international opponents.
He travelled to the USA for the FIFA Club World Cup, where Sundowns could not reach the knockout stages despite capturing the world with the football that was pleasing to the eye.
During his tenure at Sundowns, Valodia was a part of the team that won 10 league titles, the CAF Champions League, the African Football League, the CAF Super Cup, two Carling Knockouts, three Nedbank Cups, and the MTN8.
Sportswire has learned that Valodia will not be short of options and may join another club in the coming weeks.
